Frequently Asked Questions
B.A.D.
B.A.D. stands forThe Best Action is Distraction. We promote healthy distractions — small, meaningful activities that help people manage mental health, build better habits, and create a stronger daily life. Our mission is to support movement, creativity, connection, and growth through action.
It means that small, intentional actions — positive distractions — can change the course of someone’s mental health. Instead of being overwhelmed by problems, we encourage people to engage with movement, creativity, community, and new experiences.
We don’t mean mindless scrolling or avoidance. We mean positive actions that create energy, connection, and purpose — like climbing a rock wall, taking a class, going kayaking, building something, or trying a new skill. It's about creating real momentum in real life.
Anyone looking to improve their mental health, habits, or overall life experience. Whether you're overcoming hardship, building better routines, or just looking for a fresh start, BAD is here to encourage you with real-world solutions.
You can join our community challenges, attend events, partner as a local business, become an affiliate, shop our merch, or simply spread the word. Or even donate. Every small action matters.
Not at this time. But we will have a nonprofit branch in the future. We operate as a mission-driven brand, reinvesting into programs, partnerships, events, and outreach designed to create impact.
Short answer is Yes! And we donate to the mission ourselves. But we do ask that you visit our Donation page and read through it thoroughly so you know exactly where your funds are going to.
Yes. One of our long-term goals is to build BAD activity facilities — physical spaces where people can come to find movement, energy, and connection, including gyms, creative spaces, workshops, and outdoor programs.
The B.A.D. Project
The B.A.D. Project = The Initiative
It’s the movement, the mission, the umbrella over everything we're building.
It includes:
- All events (races, pop-up booths, local meetups, facility openings)
- All collaborations (gyms, outdoor rentals, local businesses)
- All future facilities (BAD spaces: gyms, activity centers, retreat-style buildings, etc.)
- All mental health outreach efforts
- The community support network you’re growing
To create accessible, real-world tools for improving mental health, building resilience, and living more fully — one small action at a time
No. We believe in all kinds of positive distractions: fitness, outdoor adventure, art classes, workshops, games, volunteer projects, and more. Anything that encourages real-life connection and action fits within BAD’s mission.
BAD events range from local pop-up booths at races and art fairs, to community meetups, sponsored athletic events, and eventually full retreats or facility-based experiences. Every event is designed to promote movement, mental reset, and new experiences.
Check our Events Page to see the calendar of upcoming pop-ups, community events, and sponsored meetups.
It depends!
- Some events are open attendance — just show up.
- Others, especially partner events like obstacle races or private workshops, require advance signup. Details will always be listed clearly on each event’s page.
Many BAD-hosted events are free. Partner events or rental experiences may have normal costs, but BAD members often receive special discounts or promotions through our partners.
