Meet the Team

We’re the builders and dreamers behind The B.A.D. Project. Each of us brings a different strength—but we all believe the best action is distraction. Here's who’s putting in the work, learning from each mistake, and growing everyday. The team are regular people just like you. Striving to be better every day.

The B.A.D. Butterfly

OUR BRAND

One half of our logo is a Monarch butterfly, which is a universal symbol marking those affected by mental illness. In some cultures, the Monarch butterfly, if seen, is said to be a sign to make a change in one’s life.

The other half of our logo features a human skull, which, to us, represents vulnerability—being bared down to our bones, our minds left open and fragile.

Garrett
The creator and founder of B.A.D., a positive space that blossomed from my personal journey through some of life’s darkest moments.

Over the years, I’ve come to understand the importance of efficiency, not just in work but in life. I’m always on the lookout for systems that make things operate more effectively. Yet, life is far from a smooth road. I’ve faced significant losses and challenges, including personal battles with addiction, mental health and more. Beginning the battle into darkness was a turning point for me, and in the struggle to overcome it, the idea for B.A.D. was born—a testament to the resilience of the human spirit.

Helping others is at the core of who I am. Whether it’s through direct action or creating spaces where people can find solace, support, and healthy distraction, I am here to make a difference. My life experiences have given me a deep sense of perspective, and I’m eager to share my stories where we can grow together and learn from one another’s journeys.

And through it all, I hold onto the belief that change is never a bad thing—it’s an opportunity for growth and new beginnings. Despite the ups and downs, I’m optimistic about the future and the impact we can all make through B.A.D.

“There's nothing like tomorrow; it's almost as good as right now.”
Chris
As a father, friend, business owner, and cancer survivor, I understand that there are moments in life when happiness feels like it’s on the other side of a mountain.

Through my own pain and challenges, I have searched for a deeper understanding of myself, life, and the meaning behind our struggles. I know the stress and pain that life inevitably brings, but I’ve also learned to appreciate the growth and sense of accomplishment that come from facing hardships.

Finding my way through these moments has been a journey. The books I’ve read, the training and coaching I’ve sought, and the people I’ve leaned on have all helped me grow into the person I am today. Far from perfect, I am still challenged and still make mistakes, but my mindset has changed. I look forward to the growth that comes through each challenge.

My goal is to help others find their own path. In my darkest moments, it was the support of friends, therapists, books, and new opportunities that helped me move forward. I want to inspire and motivate others to keep climbing and reach the top of their own mountains.

“Eventually, we all have to accept full and total responsibility for our actions, everything we have done, and everything we have not done.”
Matt
From a young age, I struggled to feel comfortable in my own skin. I battled internally—questioning who I was, what I wanted in life, and how to reach the goals that always seemed just out of reach. I wrestled with self-worth, doubting if I was deserving of love, both from myself and others.

But through physical challenges, I discovered that my mindset grew stronger. This gave me purpose—a sense of achievement. However, life took me down a darker path. I turned to substance abuse as an escape, using it to numb my problems. I lost good friends, and my own thoughts drifted closer to destruction with each passing day.

I knew I had to make a change. I needed to. In my journey toward better mental health, I discovered a passion for helping others—encouraging and uplifting those who, like me, felt lost. I wanted to remind people that they’re not alone, that change is possible, and that even small steps toward a healthier life are worth taking.

We all face mental and physical struggles. For me, fitness became an outlet, along with seeking professional guidance to maintain a healthy mindset. Growth comes from taking responsibility, pushing forward, and showing up for yourself every day. Even if I fall short, what matters is the effort—the commitment to becoming better, one step at a time.
Nate
I’ve been through more in the past few years than I care to admit—life-changing injuries, heartbreak, rebuilding from the ground up, losing people very close to me, and learning what it really means to start over.

I’m a father first, and everything I do is rooted in making a better life for my kids. I’ve worked in construction and landscaping, and tried just about everything else. But I’ve found strength in the kind of pain that either breaks you or builds you. I chose to let it build me.

I’ve learned that growth doesn’t come from comfort—it comes from being pushed to your limit and deciding to keep going anyway. That’s what The B.A.D. Project is about at its core—finding purpose through pain and learning how to turn struggle into something powerful.

I’m not here to pretend I have all the answers. I’m here to show what it looks like to keep showing up, even when life puts every obstacle in the way.
